Manic Monday - 8/29

I am BACK!  After a fairly long (3 week?) hiatus I am returning to eating well, working out and blogging.  I have actually not been eating that bad and have been exercising pretty regularly training for my 5K that I was supposed to run on Saturday.  Well, after some disappointing runs and a twist of the ankle two days before the run I decided to scrap the running.  I didn’t care too much about the actual race; it was just good to have a goal of some sort to keep me exercising.  I haven’t lost any weight in the last couple of weeks… but I haven’t gained either so I figure I am not too far off!

Here is how I did today!

Food: Today I started back on South each Diet Phase 1 again.  I followed it strictly.  No carbs of any kind.  I always feel so tired the first day but by day 3 feel great… I can’t wait until day 3 J

Supplements:  Prenatal, calcium chew, 2 omega 3’s

Drinks: Lots of water and LOTS of iced tea

Exercise: Aaron had the idea to start running intervals (that is how he increases is speed and stamina).  Plus, I have read that doing that burns more calories so I tried a new interval program today.  Walk 1 minute, jog 2 minutes, and run as hard as I could for 1 minute.  I did it 4 times and was TIRED!

Thoughts for Thursday - 8/4/11

Well, I have been slacking in the blogging department.  An impromptu weekend away and taking care of things when we came back is a terrible excuse, but it is the only one I have.  This weekend I pretty much ate what I wanted (i.e. Adventureland food), but this week I have been fairly good.  I weighed myself yesterday and I am down a pound, which is good considering what I ateJ  I ran yesterday and it felt really good!  But with my foot pain from the run I am out from running today.

Here is how I did today:

Food: 31 WW Points Plus

Supplements: Prenatal, 2 tsp Benefiber, calcium chew, 1 fish oil

Drinks:  Water and iced Tea – didn’t count today

Exercise: I took it easy today, I have a lot of foot pain todayL

Thoughts for Thursday 7/28/11

So, yesterday when I weighed in I was feeling really bloated and wasn’t to pleased with the number.  This morning I woke up feeling better so I weighed in and I was an entire pound lighter… now that’s some bloatJ

Sammy and Lily had their first non-family/non-adult babysitter today while I went out with Terri and Stacy for lunch!  My sandwich was ok, but the company and the atmosphere was great.  CR people, definitely check out Capones!

Food: 29ish points.  I had to estimate since I ate outJ

Supplements: Prenatal, calcium chew, 1 fish oil

Drinks:  2 iced teas, 2 diet pepsi, 4-water

Exercise: 20 minute Biggest Looser Strength and Sculpt video, 19 minute - run 4 min, walk 30 sec

Off Topic Tuesday - 7/26

Today was a hot one!  Sammy didn’t nap today (boo!) so we went to the pool because Aaron got home early (yay!).  Sammy accidently fell down the slide but survived.  Lily started doing bobs up past her nose on her own.  SCARY!

Sammy finished his music class today and Aaron, Lily, and I got to go and watch and Lily got to participate.  We found out that the teacher that we went to for music class last school year is not returning for the fallL  We loved Paula!  The new teacher just doesn’t seem to have that something special that Paula did so I am not sure if we will sign up or look for something else for Lily on Tuesdays.  So sad!

On topic:  Shells and cheese and my favorite way to make cauliflower are VERY bad for Weight Watchers Points Plus!  FYI….

Food:  36 weight watchers points plus (Goal 29).  So far this week I have used 11 of my 49 extra points plus.

Supplements:  Prenatal, Calcium Chew, 1000 mg Fish Oil

Drinks:  Water – 4, Iced Tea – 4

Exercise:  20 minute walk around the neighborhood in the morning, 25 min run/walk (same as yesterday) on a treadmill.

Manic Monday - 7/25

We had a great day around here.  We went to two parks, had an impromptu picnic thanks to a drive through McDonalds, the kids took good naps, we played with playdough, ate awesome leftovers from yesterday’s yummy lunch, and got to play outside after supper.  I even got a long run in.  My food intake was far from perfect (McDonalds???!!!) but overall, I think with my exercise I came out close to even.

I am considering running a 5K here in Cedar Rapids on the 27th of August.  I figure that will give me motivation to run more than if I were aiming for just the end of September.  Anyone care to join me?

Funny thing today… I decided to go back to using the G Diapers with Lily (those ½ disposable, ½ reusable diapers).  We still have some left over from Sam.  Lily’s little bottom is so much bigger in them that she fills out her shorts… finally!  I am thinking that maybe we can actually wear some of her 12 month clothes this summerJ  I wish I had her problem!

Food:  34 points (Thanks McDonald’s drive through)

Supplements:  Prenatal Vitamin, 1 – 1000mg Fish Oil, 2tsp. Benefiber in protein shake

Drinks: Water 4, Iced Tea 2, Diet Dr. Pepper – 1 (McDonalds)

Exercise: 25 minute run/walk intervals.  2 minute runs, 30 second walks.

Well, It’s the Weekend….. 7/23 - 7/24

So, this weekend I pretty much ate what I wanted when I wanted.  With most of our families in town for the weekend it was hard to be good.  Poor excuse, I know!  It was so great to see everyone thoughJ  I did my best to eat parts of main meals but one of my favorites, potato salad, kept on popping up each day.  I cannot resist it!  We will see what the scale says on Wednesday.  Thanks for the great company and good times family!  Aaron and I are going to start looking at our Korea itenerary and looking things up online and in our books tonight!  So excited!

Food: I did not count or write down what I ate… it was a lot!

Supplements: Saturday – Prenatal
Sunday – Prenatal, calcium chew, 1-1000mg fish oil capsule

Drinks:  Saturday - Diet Pepsi (3), water, and Mike’s Lemonade
Sunday – Water, Iced Tea, Malibu with pineapple juice (YUMMY)

Exercise:  Saturday – NothingL
Sunday – 45 min walk on treadmill (No running due to poor eating and drinking habits on the weekend and being extremely tired.  I WILL RUN TOMORROW!!!!!!!)

Thoughts for Thursday 7/21/11

Oops!  Yesterday I did Thursday, but that is actually todayJ

I was going to go lap swimming again today but instead went to Target to buy Jared his birthday present.  Oh well!  I made sure not to eat after supper… just as Jillian would like it.

We made AWESOME chicken tacos tonight.  Check out this link!

Anyone have information on taking Omega 3 Fish Oil tablets?  I have some... but not sure how many to take.  I should just talk to my doctor, probably.

Here's how I did for the day:

Food: 30 Weight Watchers Points Plus – 1 over.

Supplements: Prenatal vitamin (not pregnant, I just still have a ton left                                     over from being preggo and nursing Lily).
                     Calcium Chew

              Tea - 4

Exercise:  Playing with kids and house cleaning (aka… nothing!)

Thoughts for Thursday 7/20/11

Today will be my official first day of blogging my progress.

I watched Oprah today and she had on Bob Green.  He is so motivating.  I thought if those women who are all 15-30 years older than me could do it… I need to!  I am thinking of reading his book 20 Years Younger.  I will look for it next week after Story Time along with my book club book that I should have been reading for a month!  Oops!

I took pictures the other day in the outfit I want to wear when I run my 5K.  Ewww!!!!!  I will take pics along the way to show my body (hopefully) changingJ

Food: 29 Weight Watchers Points Plus (including Coldstone!!!)

Supplements:  Benefiber – 2 tsp. in protein shake

Drinks:  Water – 6
              Iced Tea – 4

Exercise:  Ran on the treadmill.  It is way to hot to run outside… although Aaron did and I think he is CRAZY!  I am running in my running progression from Keri.  I ran for 2 min walked for 30 sec and did that 8 times.  I ran on a 1.5-2.0 incline at 4.0-4.3mph.

All About Me!

So today is the day of my very first blog!  I have been thinking of doing this for a few weeks, but I have finally decided to go ahead and do it.

If you don't know me you might not know that I used to be thin... not super skinny or anything, but healthy and thin.  I was at my heaviest weight every (well up until that point) when I got pregnant with my son.  I gained 42 pounds with him and at my thinnest after him got down to 10 pounds more than that.  With my daughter I gained 27 pounds and am now within 5 pounds of my pre-pregnancy weight.

Needless to say... I have a LONG way to go.  My goal is to lose 50 pounds in the healthiest way possible.  So far I have lost 14 pounds.  I don't have a timeline on my weight loss goal but I would obviously like to be at or below my goal weight as soon as possible!

Here is what I have been doing so far  I started off doing South Beach Diet Phase One.  I know going no-carb is not the healthiest thing to do, but is the only way I know to get rid of my deepest cravings.  I love carbs, but it had to be done.  I did this for two weeks and did cheat a couple of times on the weekends but overall lost 11 pounds in 2 weeks.  The next week I added in one fruit a day and lost 2 pounds that week.  The next week I added in one grain and lost one pound.  Then (not surprisingly) I started to cheat.  So my weight loss has been stagnant for the last two weeks or so.

So, on this blog I will try to be accountable to whoever reads this.  I will do my best to post what I eat, how much I am exercising (I will talk about that later) and how this correlates with my pounds lost on the scale.  Thank you for reading this.  Please check back and help keep me accountable!

Becky:)
